Book Cover!

Hi Everyone,

I have been on vacation for the past two weeks and having a blast as I traveled to Las Vegas and then drove through Death Valley, Yosemite, San Francisco, and Big Sur with my family. To end the trip, we spent a couple of lazy days in San Diego lolling about on the beach!

The vacation may well be over but I'm still in holiday mood.

Whilst I was away, I celebrated my birthday, my wedding anniversary, and my book cover art !!!! Seeing the beautiful art work that Dawne Dominique created for my first YA romantic fantasy book was electrifying and I couldn't keep my eyes off the picture .

I love it and hope you do too?

That's it for this week as I have to unpack and get everyone ready for school! As soon as I have news of the date for the book release and can post excerpts, I will be right on it.

Have a great holiday weekend.

                                                          Little something about me!
JENNIFER DAVIES is a wife of eighteen years and is married to her best friend and her biggest critic! She is a mother of four very active boys who constantly keep her on her toes and give their share of sleepless nights, but they are her greatest source of pleasure and pride. Reading is a love of hers, and some of her favorite
authors inlcude Jodi Picoult, Deborah Harkness and Cassandra Clare. Through her love of reading she developed a thirst and passion for writing. Jennifer has written her first YA romantic fantasy titled Children of Annwn:The Promise  due for release in September, and she is currently writing the second and third book in the series.

The story centers around Mia Leronde who is from the Otherworld a magical realm hidden to humans through magic. After falling in love, and undertaking the Promise an ancient law she is sent into the human world to test the power of her love, and if she fails to fulfill her promise, she will remain in a world she doesn't belong and lose her magic. It's about making a promise and fighting against all the odds to fulfill it despite the challenges one may face. It's good versus evil where both Mia and her love Ryder are tested because when they arrive in the human world, they have no memory of their past...

As part of the blog hop, all of us are answering the same four questions about our writing process. So here goes!
                               1.What am I working on?
As a newly signed author with Secret Cravings, my first YA romantic fantasy called Children of Annwn: The Promise is due for release in September. At the moment, I waiting for my editor to return the manuscript  for me to work on the edits. In the meantime, I am working on the second book in the trilogy.

Seventeen-year-old Mia Childs always knew her visions meant trouble, but when her dream boy Ryder turns up in real-life, all her secrets coming tumbling out, even the fact that she isn’t human.
                                          2. how does your work differ from others in your genre?

That's a tough one! I just interviewed Claudy Conn, an amazing paranormal and historical romance writer, and she undertakes a lot of research before she pens her stories. She reads the information until she knows it. Well, I have a confession. I read books in my genre, and I print out a lot of information that I use to back up what I am saying in the story to add details, but I also look up things as I am writing, because  my mind will ask questions as the story is progressing, so my research is on-going! Like, Claudy Conn, though, I have ideas for writing stories in different genre's and the reason I chose her as my example is because I have a WIP called Capturing the Last Welsh Witch, and it's an adult paranormal! I'm at 40,000.

3.Why do you write what you write?

Hm, since I was a teenager, I have loved reading romance novels. I love the historicals and would love one day to perhaps have a go at writing one, but I also love fantasy and paranormal! Ideas for stories simply come to me, and I like to try different genres. I guess, I'm discovering what suits me best as a writer. I have a paranormal on the go, two more books for the YA romantic fantasy series to write, an erotic, in a very rough draft, a short story I'm revamping, and an idea for an adult novel that is ?? title, The Seventeen Year Itch!

4.How does your writing process work?

Every day I have a plan! That plan is to write! I would like to say that I write for so many hours every day, but that doesn't always happen. Every day is different! My day begins early. I am usually the first one up, and the best time to write, for me, is the morning after a strong cup of tea. When the kids are in school, I have trained myself to sit and write for several hours. The hardest part is not to go back and make edits straight away, but to let the free-flowing writing do its magic! I will write in the evening if the writing is going well, and occasionally my husband is known to let me write at the weekend if I was aiming for deadline. Below, is a picture of my office, and I love it. The blinds open and close as dictated by the amount of sun, music is selective and always in the background, unless I need total silence, when I need to concentrate and brain storm and then no one can bother me or beware!

Below is a list of wonderful authors joining me on this blog hop and they will be posting on the 12th August.
